The purpose of this work is to provide historical information and analysis on my immediate family from the 1935 marriage of my parents (Melivn Carter Torian and Eveyln Mae Robertson) to the 2018 death of my only sibling, my brother (Melvin Carter Torian, Jr.).

The historical information and analysis are presented in the form of a timeline of periods from 1935 to 2018. These periods were chosen because they cover what I believe to be significant events relevant to the Melvin Carter Torian family history.

I provide, with as much objectivity as I can muster, the  periods which I consider to be “unique” periods – periods which I can identify and write about and periods that I believe represent important and unique periods in identifying the life of the family and memorizing it - its life lived in actual events.

My sources for what are find in the periods are:  my memory; my research done previously in my family history work; memorials previously written for my father and mother; dozens of letters and documents sent by Melvin, Jr. to father and mother and saved by mother (which I acquired when she died); and research on the newspapers.com.
